Resolved Question: What are the options instead of paying a fine?

I was in Newport Beach, CA and I got a ticket for being at the beach after hours at 1 a.m.on a Sunday morning. I wasn't doing anything that I shouldn't have been doing. My girlfriends and I were just walking along the beach because our beach house was right in front of the beach and we were not aware of the law and we didn't mean any harm. The fine is $265. Can I do community service? Can I ask for a reduction? How can I explain to the judicial officer that I can't afford $265? Because I really can't. Thank you! 10 points to whoever can help!
